Fanart - MLP. I know your weak point, Darling

So there is a very surprising trend going in the Pony Fandom that I find both amusing and fascinating. That is the trend of having Rarity fight against a giant crab. I don't understand why, or how it all came to be, or if this was supposed to be a spin on the whole "Giant Enemy Crab" meme spawned by the disastrous E3 Sony PS3 conference. Maybe it was going to originally have all of the Mane Six, but after doing just Rarity people found it really unique so everybody went and said, "Let's draw Rarity fighting a Giant Crab! It will be awesome!"

I agree, it is awesome. And it's Best Pony fighting a giant foe, so how am I not going to jump in on the bandwagon and make another drawing to add to the pile?

I was looking for an idea to practice my shading and trying a new technique, so I decided to go with this one. I've grown dependent to having black outlines and inks in all my pictures, so with this one I decided against it. It doesn't have a single outline or "ink" and all I did was adding color until it looked like what you are seeing right now. Yeah, I know the crab's pincers are huge compared to his body and that he is most likely going to fall on his face as soon as he takes one step, but I don't really care. It had to look threateningly cute, and I think I achieved that. This is a very costly technique in terms of time and planning ahead, but the results satisfy me greatly.
